Short Description (199 characters max)
I am an experienced Therapist Intern specializing in working with grief and loss, female adolescents, family trauma (divorce/ death), couples, and adults experiencing depression and/ or anxiety.
Description (2950 characters max)
I provide effective, collaborative, and thoughtful psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, and couples or families seeking support. I have an established private practice housed in a beautiful setting located in the Riviera neighborhood of Santa Barbara.

I have two decades of experience assisting individuals with a variety of challenging situations and experiences. I am a warm practitioner accustomed to working with individuals recovering from domestic violence and sexual assault or rape, as well as those struggling with depression and anxiety. As a trained Yoga Therapist, I offered specialty workshops and classes to adult and adolescent trauma survivors at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center. I also provided yoga workshops to agencies that specialized in working with women in recovery, and in organizations where employees wished to manage chronic stress and burn-out.

As a trainee, I provided individual psychotherapy to adults, adolescents and couples at New Beginnings Counseling Center, where I also co-facilitated a DBT-informed therapy group. My special role as a co-facilitator was to guide participants through a variety of mindfulness-based breathing and safe movement exercises to assist with the management of distressing symptoms or times of crisis.

Aside from private practice, I currently serve as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern at Hospice of Camarillo, where I receive specialty training and supervision on companioning adolescents, adults, couples, and families through experiences of grief and loss. My other areas of special interest include emotional eating, codependency, vocational ambivalence, relationship issues, sexuality and gender issues, and family trauma.

Therapy is conducted in a safe and compassionate environment. I believe in resourcing all layers of the individual in therapy, including the relational, the cognitive, the somatic or physical, the sociocultural, and the deeper, mysterious layers of the psyche. I utilize interventions that range from dream work to clay and sand tray exercises. Clients are encouraged to build insight around their past experiences, toward a heightened sense of themselves in the present moment. This process allows clients to access themselves as abundant resources, encouraging a deeper connection with their personal experience of living, as well as deepening their relationship to others and the larger world as well.
